Just across Dublin, lies Liverpool. The city known for the Beatles, strange designs and british modern architecture. Just 30 minutes flying from Dublin we arrived at the John Lennon Airport. From there there are plenty of busses that will take you to the city (an hour drive).
Liverpool can best be desribed as a very modern city, with plenty to do. They are known for the birthplace of the Beatles and thus even have their own Beatles museum. (Located on the docks). They also have a very large museum about liverpool (free entrance). And of course there is the cavern itself. The underground music bar where the Beatles played first. Even Queen and other big artists have played here.
The city center known as Liverpool one is filled with shops and good restaurants, there is also a dock where there always is plenty to do.
We used our time well, we visited the Beatles Museum, we strolled around the city, we even took a hop on hop of tourbus to see more of the city. Liverpool is very easy to navigate, so don’t worry about losing your way here.
We really enjoyed Liverpool and we would gladly visit again someday.
